Q Magazine
House Style
Q magazines' house style is a huge Q located in the top left hand corner, it stands out and is very noticable. It is always a very rich red. It is very distinct to other music magazines because there is a lot of red which you associate with Q.
Front Cover
Q magazine is a ver popular music magazine sold world wide, it appeals to the rock & roll and pop genre and is extreamly recognisable. Its age range is 15 - 24, and 68% male.
- The dominant image is a side shot of the lead singer of Oasis, Liam Gallagher. He is very iconic in the rock and roll scene, and people will instatnly recognise him. He is staring into the camera, looking very mysterious. This intrigueds the reader and will entice them to pick up the magazine and buy it.
Contents Page
- The whole contents page looks very formal and neat. It is very easy to read and i believe this could target people who earn a good income (ABC1) as it is formal enough for them to read and understand.
- Along the left hand there are very popular rock and pop artists such as Queen, Linkin Park and Adele. This appeals too people who are into these genres of music and will persuade them into buying the magazine.
Feature Article
- This is the Feature article for Q magazine. The overly enlarged dominant image on the right stands out and draws the eye of he reader. The pose is very powerful, this relates to the type of music this man produces, which is rock and roll.
- The large 'T' is the thing that you spot first. The colour red connotes things like anger and blood. This links in with the rock/metal genre perfectly. The drop caps have been text wrapped, this makes the page look more formal and neat. The left hand side of the page is full of text which can appeal quite boring to younger readers, but this is more suited to the older readers.
